A Driver Training & Test

A Driver Training & Test

A valid 'A' licence is required to tow a trailer which weighs in excess of 4,600 kilograms. This fourteen-week program consists of 99 hours of practical training and 101 hours of theory. Participants will learn shifting techniques on multi-speed transmissions; regulations on work hours; pre-trip inspections; border crossing and more. This program also qualifies students to write the MTO (Ministry of Transportation) 'C' licence exam. The 'A' driver's licence training program was developed to assist licenced drivers in obtaining the necessary knowledge to successfully complete our MTO (Ministry of Transportation) approved "A" road test. Your road test will be conducted at Fanshawe College in a Fanshawe vehicle with a Fanshawe Instructor with MTO Signing Authority. You must be 18 years of age or over to apply for the A License Course.
