Overview
To lead others effectively starts with leading yourself. To that end, think of leadership as a system. At the centre lies the individual leader. Leaders must know themselves, which implies an understanding of their own leadership identity, consciousness, and their action orientation—that is, who you are, how you think and feel, and how you do things. Once leaders truly know themselves, they can begin to authentically lead others. And it is through the effective leadership of others that leaders can make an influential impact within their organizations.
